This opportunity is hosted by the Niger Delta Institute for Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases (NDIERID) and covers a wide range of specializations, including Molecular Biology, Public Health, and more.

Program Durations:

  • Postgraduate Diploma: 2 semesters
  • Master’s Degree: 3 semesters (coursework + research thesis)
  • Doctoral Degree: Minimum of 6 semesters
  • Certificate Programs: 6 months

Admission Requirements:

Postgraduate Diploma:

  • A degree from FUO or an accredited institution with at least Second Class Honours or Third Class in related fields.
  • HND holders must have a minimum of Lower Credit.

Master’s Degree:

  • A degree from FUO or an accredited institution with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division).

Doctoral Programs:

  • A Master’s or Professional Master’s Degree with a research thesis and a CGPA of at least 3.5.

Public Health Nursing:

  • Limited to holders of a Bachelor of Nursing Science or equivalent qualifications.

Certificate Programs:

  • Minimum requirement: OND from a recognized institution.

General Requirements:

  • Candidates must meet O’Level requirements with five credits in relevant subjects (including English and Mathematics) in no more than two sittings.
  • Three referee reference letters are required.

Specializations in Public Health:

  • Master’s/PhD: Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Systems, Policy & Management, Environmental Health, Health Promotion
  • MPH/DrPH: Community Health, Epidemiology, Disease Control, Disaster & Humanitarian Emergency
