What Are the UNIJOS Sandwich Programmes?
The Sandwich (Long Vacation Part-Time) programmes are designed for individuals who want to study during the long holidays. The format allows students to complete courses over several summer sessions (called “contacts”) rather than through regular semesters.
Undergraduate Courses Available
You can earn a part-time bachelor’s degree in the following fields, usually over four to five contact sessions, depending on your entry level:

Entry Requirements
For Undergraduate Degree Programmes
Contact One (Year One Admission)
- Minimum of five (5) O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics.
Contact Two (Direct Entry Admission)
- A relevant NCE or Diploma (Distinction, Upper, or Lower Credit) from a recognised institution, covering at least two academic years.
- Five (5) O’Level credits including English and Mathematics.
For PGDE and PGDTE Programmes
- PGDE: A degree or HND in a relevant field.
- PGDTE: A degree, HND, or equivalent in Science, Technology, or Business Education.
How to Apply
You have two options for submitting your application:
Option 1: Online Application
- Visit the UNIJOS application portal.
- Pay ₦10,000 for undergraduate forms or ₦25,000 for PGDE/PGDTE forms.
- Complete the form online and print a copy for your records.
Option 2: In-Person Application
- Visit the Institute of Education, UNIJOS Main Campus, Bauchi Road.
- Pick up a form at the Finance Office.
- An additional ₦2,500 processing fee applies.
Note: All completed forms, along with photocopies of your academic documents, must be submitted on or before May 30, 2025.
