When Will 2026 NECO SSCE Results Be Released?
The National Examination Council (NECO) has officially announced that the 2026 SSCE results will be released on or before September 14, 2026. This date is critical because many universities use your NECO results alongside your UTME score to calculate your aggregate admission score. Therefore, staying alert and checking your results immediately after release is essential. You can check your results on the official NECO portal using your registration number.
How University Admission Works: UTME + SSCE + Post-UTME
Nigerian universities now use a combined scoring system to determine admission. Here’s how it works:
- UTME Score: Your JAMB UTME exam result (out of 400)
- SSCE Result: Your NECO or WAEC O-Level grades
- Post-UTME Exam: A screening test conducted by the university
For example, at Olabisi Onabanjo University, the aggregate score calculation is as follows: ((UTME score + 400) × 60%) + ((Post-UTME score + 100) × 40%). This means your UTME carries more weight, but your Post-UTME performance significantly impacts your final admission score.
