FUTA Set to Hold Inaugural Matriculation Ceremony for New Students

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) is gearing up for a major milestone as it prepares to host its first-ever matriculation ceremony for newly admitted students. This momentous occasion marks the formal welcome into the university’s academic community.

Ceremony Details: What to Know

The highly anticipated matriculation ceremony will take place on Friday, November 22, 2024, at the T.I. Francis Auditorium within the university campus. The event is set to kick off at 3:00 PM, and all newly admitted students are expected to attend and take the Matriculation Oath.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor A. T. Oladiji, along with other senior university officials, will be present to officiate the ceremony. This will be a moment of pride for all first-year students as they officially begin their academic journey at FUTA.

Academic Gown Collection: Important Information

To participate in the ceremony, all newly admitted students must pick up their academic gowns and complete the matriculation list clearance. The collection process will take place at the SPD Administrative Office, with the following schedule:

  • Collection Begins: Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 8:00 AM
  • Collection Ends: Friday, November 22, 2024, at 12:00 PM

Changes to Class Schedules

In recognition of the ceremony, all online lectures will be suspended on Friday, November 22. In-person classes will resume immediately after the ceremony concludes, ensuring that the academic schedule continues smoothly.
