UBTH College of Nursing Sciences Announces Post Basic Gerontology Nursing Programme for 2025/2026 Session

The University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) College of Nursing Sciences has officially launched the Post Basic Gerontology Nursing Programme for the 2025/2026 academic session. This one-year programme is designed to equip qualified nurses with the specialized skills needed to care for the elderly. Graduates will be registered as Gerontology Nurses with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), opening up new career opportunities in the rapidly growing field of geriatric care.

  • At least five credit passes in WASC, GCE, or NECO, including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry (with no more than two sittings).
  • A valid Registered Nurse (RN) certificate or a Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc) degree.
  • At least one year of post-registration nursing experience.
  • A current and valid practicing license.

Screening and Examination Dates:

  • Batch 1: February 6, 2025
  • Batch 2: March 26, 2025
  • The screening will be conducted virtually, meaning you can attend from the comfort of your home, office, or anywhere with internet access.
