Enugu State Governor Commends Top Scorer, Master Ernest Ifeanyichukwu Ofoama, for Exceptional UTME Performance

Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, has lauded the remarkable achievement of Master Ernest Ifeanyichukwu Ofoama, who emerged as the top scorer in Enugu State during the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). In a ceremony held at the Government House in Enugu, Governor Mbah expressed his delight at the academic excellence displayed by the 18-year-old student and pledged unwavering support for his educational endeavors.

During the event, Enugu’s First Lady, Mrs. Nkechiyere Mbah, announced a scholarship worth ₦1,000,000 and additional incentives through her foundation, Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), to assist Master Ofoama in pursuing his desired university course. This generous gesture aims to empower and encourage the young scholar to reach greater heights in his academic journey.

Governor Mbah underscored the government’s commitment to enhancing the educational landscape in Enugu State. He outlined comprehensive plans to revitalize public schools by incorporating cutting-edge teaching tools such as multimedia software, simulations, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence. These advancements will create an environment conducive to effective learning and equip students with the skills needed to thrive in the modern world.

Hailing from Awha-Imezi in Ezeagu Local Government Area, Master Ofoama achieved an exceptional score of 347 in the UTME. His remarkable accomplishment not only earned him recognition from the governor but also secured him the esteemed First Lady’s scholarship award. The scholarship presentation ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on August 26, 2023.
