NYSC Suspends NERD Clearance for ZAMSU Graduates Ahead of 2025 Batch ‘C’ Mobilisation
In a new development that will bring relief to many graduating students, Zamfara State University (ZAMSU), Talata Mafara, has announced that the Nigeria Education Repository and Databank (NERD) clearance will not be required for its graduates participating in the 2025 NYSC Batch ‘C’ mobilisation exercise.
The university’s management disclosed this after receiving an official communication from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Headquarters, Abuja, confirming that the enforcement of the NERD clearance has been temporarily suspended.
NYSC Clarifies NERD Policy for ZAMSU Graduates
According to NYSC authorities, this decision follows a directive from the NERD Secretariat, which stated that the clearance policy will not apply to the 2025 Batch ‘C’ corps members.
This means ZAMSU graduates can proceed with their NYSC registration without needing to complete NERD compliance at this stage. However, the Corps emphasized that the NERD system will be fully implemented in subsequent batches, once all operational processes are completed.
ZAMSU Advises Graduating Students to Stay Alert
In its advisory to students, the management of Zamfara State University urged all graduating students to remain patient and cooperative as the NYSC and NERD policies evolve.
“We appreciate the understanding of our graduates during this transitional phase and assure them that they will be updated on any future policy changes affecting NYSC mobilisation,” the statement read.
Students are also encouraged to regularly check for updates from both the NERD Secretariat and NYSC to ensure a smooth mobilisation process when the policy eventually takes effect.
