FCMLST Jos Announces Admission for 2025/2026 Short-Term Certificate Courses

The Federal College of Medical Laboratory Science and Technology (FCMLST), Jos has officially opened applications for its 2025/2026 academic session. This year, the college is focusing on short-term certificate programmes that equip students with hands-on skills directly relevant to public health and clinical practice.

What’s on Offer?

The institution has rolled out three specialised certificate courses designed to sharpen professional skills:

• Applied Immunology and Vaccine Science (9 months)
• Mortuary Science (6 months)
• Phlebotomy (6 months)

These are skill-driven programmes tailored for graduates, professionals, and health workers who want career advancement in the medical field.

Who Can Apply?

1. Applied Immunology and Vaccine Science

• Graduates with BMLS or BSc in Biomedical Sciences.
• Holders of OD or ND in Medical Laboratory Technology with at least one year of laboratory, clinical, or research experience.

2. Mortuary Science

• Graduates with BMLS or BSc in Biomedical Sciences.
• Holders of OD or ND in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Mortuary Attendants with WAEC, NECO, or GCE results (credits in Biology, Chemistry, English, Mathematics, and Physics – max two sittings) plus one year work experience.

3. Phlebotomy

• Graduates with BMLS or BSc in Biomedical Sciences.
• Holders of OD or ND in Medical Laboratory Technology.

Application Fee and Process

Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable ₦10,000 application fee via the Remita platform. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

1. Visit Remita.
2. Select PAY TSA & STATE, then choose PAY FGN.
3. Under “Who to Pay,” select FCMLST Jos 052102704200 and specify the payment purpose.
4. Fill in payer details (name, phone, email).
5. Enter “NII” under GIFMIS code with description.
6. Choose your payment method (card or bank).
7. Generate, print, and keep the receipt with the Remita code.

Important Dates

• Screening & Registration: Wednesday 1st – Friday 3rd October 2025
