Ahmadu Bello University Announces 2024/2025 Matriculation Ceremony: All You Need to Know
Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria has officially announced the details for the much-awaited 2024/2025 matriculation ceremony. Here’s everything you need to know to be part of this special event!
Ceremony Details
- Date: Tuesday, February 25, 2025
- Time: 10:00 AM
- Venue: Mamman Kontagora Square, Main Campus, Samaru, Zaria
All fresh undergraduate students are expected to attend and mark the beginning of their academic journey.
Attendance Requirement
- Mandatory Attendance: All newly admitted undergraduate students must attend the matriculation ceremony.
- Academic Gown: Students are required to wear a full academic gown during the ceremony.
- Matriculation Oath: The formal matriculation oath will be administered to all students.
How to Obtain Your Academic Gown
- Payment: To rent your academic gown, pay N2,000 via the Remita platform.
- Collection: After making the payment, visit your Faculty Officer to collect the gown and the matriculation oath form.
Steps to Make Payment via Remita
Follow these simple steps to make your payment online:
- Open your web browser and go to the Remita website.
- Select Pay TSA & States.
- Choose FGN: Federal Government of Nigeria.
- In the Who do you want to pay? field, type Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria – 1000110.
- Select COGCC under Name of Service/Purpose.
- In the Description field, type Payment for Academic Gown Hiring.
- Enter N2,000 as the amount.
- Fill in your full name, phone number, and email address.
- Tick the I am not a robot box and follow the instructions.
- Click Submit and choose a payment method (card, bank transfer, USSD, bank account, or internet banking).
- Once paid, visit the Cash Office to present your Remita receipt for verification.
Recording of Attendance
- Faculty Officers will record the attendance of all students during the ceremony.
- After the event, they will submit the attendance records and completed matriculation forms to the Academic Office for uploading to student portals.
