Exciting Opportunity: Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo Opens Admissions for 2024/2025 Academic Session
The Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO) is thrilled to announce the start of its admission process for the 2024/2025 academic year! This is a fantastic chance for aspiring students to join one of Nigeria’s top institutions dedicated to health sciences.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for the FUHSO Post UTME Screening, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- JAMB Requirement: You should have applied through JAMB for the 2024/2025 UTME or Direct Entry (DE) and chosen FUHSO as your first choice.
- O’Level Results: You need at least five credits in your O’level exams, including English and Mathematics, completed in no more than two sittings.
Minimum UTME Cut-off Marks
Here are the minimum cut-off marks for various courses:
- College of Medicine:
- MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery): 240 and above
- B.Sc. Biochemistry: 200 and above
- Faculty of Science:
- B.Sc. Microbiology: 200 and above
- B.Sc. Computer Science: 180 and above
- B.Sc. Chemistry: 180 and above
- B.Sc. Biostatistics: 180 and above
- B.Sc. Biological Sciences: 180 and above
- B.Sc. Mathematics: 180 and above
- B.Sc. Physics: 180 and above
For Direct Entry candidates, you should have at least a second-class lower degree in relevant science fields or A Levels/IJMB with a minimum of 13 points in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Alternative Course Options
If you scored 220 and above in the UTME, you may also be considered for alternative courses during the screening process, including:
- B. Pharmacy
- B. Nursing Science
- B. Medical Laboratory Science
Screening Details
The Post UTME and Direct Entry screening will be held at the University’s Lecture Theatre, Take-off Campus, Otada, Otukpo. The specific date will be announced soon, so stay tuned!
How to Switch to FUHSO as Your First Choice
If you’re interested in changing your first choice to FUHSO, simply update your preferences on the JAMB portal. Make sure the program you choose aligns with your UTME subject combination and O’level results.
Important Reminder
Don’t forget to upload your O’level results on the JAMB portal, Candidates who fail to do this will not be eligible for admission.
Documents Needed for Screening
When attending the FUHSO Post UTME screening, please bring the following documents:
- Proof of selecting FUHSO as your first choice via JAMB
- JAMB results printout from JAMB CAPS
- Original SSCE/NECO O’level Certificate/Result
- Birth Certificate
- Two passport-sized photographs
- Evidence of payment for the non-refundable processing fee of N2,000 via REMITA
- Two photocopies of each document listed above
