AE-FUNAI Postpones 14th Matriculation Indefinitely, Cancels February 5 Date

Fresh students of Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI), Ebonyi State, will have to wait longer to be formally admitted into the institution, as the university has announced the indefinite postponement of its 14th Matriculation Ceremony.


AE-FUNAI 14th Matriculation Put on Hold

The management of Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI) has officially postponed its 14th Matriculation Ceremony indefinitely, cancelling the earlier scheduled date of Thursday, February 5, 2026.

The announcement was made through a circular issued by the Office of the Registrar, following a directive from the Vice-Chancellor of the university.

According to the circular, the matriculation ceremony will no longer hold on the previously announced date, and a new date will be communicated to the university community in due course.

What the Registrar’s Circular Says

In the official notice, the Registrar’s Office informed students, parents, guardians, and other stakeholders that:

  • The February 5, 2026 matriculation date has been cancelled
  • The ceremony has been postponed indefinitely
  • A fresh date will be announced later through official university channels

The management emphasized that, until a new date is announced, the matriculation exercise remains on hold.

Vice-Chancellor’s Directive

The circular clearly stated that the postponement follows the directive of the Vice-Chancellor, adding that the university regrets any inconvenience the change may cause.

Stakeholders were urged to remain patient and rely only on official communication from AE-FUNAI, warning that rumours or unofficial information could be misleading.
