The mangrove swamp is salt water swamp which forms a belt along the coast of Nigeria, stretching from Lagos State to Akwa Ibom State. It lies in the tropical rainforest zone where there is heavy rainfall and many large rivers. Guinea savanna is vegetation predominantly covered with grasses with few scattered trees and shrubs. Savanna has annual burning. It covers Enugu State up to Bauchi State. Sahel Savanna - this is only found in Borno State near lake Chad. Rainfall is very low hence grasses are very scanty. Sudan Savanna has moderate rainfall and the grasses are more than that of Sahel Savanna with very few scattered trees.
