Venite University Announces Vacancy for Vice-Chancellor Position

Venite University, one of Nigeria’s fast-growing private institutions, has announced a call for applications for the position of Vice-Chancellor. The position, which will soon become vacant, offers an opportunity for an experienced academic leader to guide the university toward its next phase of excellence.

The university’s Governing Council invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for this key leadership role. Venite University was officially licensed by the Federal Government of Nigeria on May 15, 2023, and has since remained committed to high-quality teaching, impactful research, and character-driven education designed to prepare students for global competitiveness.

The Role of the Vice-Chancellor

The Vice-Chancellor serves as the Chief Executive and Academic Officer of the university, reporting directly to the Governing Council. The successful candidate will oversee academic and administrative operations, maintain discipline, and uphold the institution’s commitment to excellence.

Eligibility and Qualifications

Interested applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a PhD from a recognised university.
  • Have at least 15 years of post-doctoral experience, including a minimum of 5 years as a Professor.
  • Demonstrate strong academic leadership, research excellence, and administrative competence.
  • Possess entrepreneurial ability and proficiency in ICT.
  • Show experience in planning, resource mobilisation, and institutional governance.
  • Be physically and mentally fit, and not older than 65 years at the date of appointment.
  • Uphold the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and discipline.

Terms and Tenure

The appointment is for a single term of five (5) years, with remuneration and benefits comparable to those of reputable private universities in Nigeria.

Application Procedure

Qualified candidates are to submit the following documents:

  1. Ten (10) copies of an application letter and detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  2. Ten (10) copies of a vision statement (maximum of 2,000 words).
  3. Ten (10) photocopies of relevant credentials and one recent passport photograph.
  4. Three (3) referees’ reports attesting to the candidate’s competence, leadership, and integrity.

Referees should send their confidential recommendations directly to the Registrar.
