UNIBEN Postgraduate Admission 2025: Requirements, Fees, and How to Apply

Who Can Apply? – UNIBEN Postgraduate Admission Requirements
UNIBEN has set clear rules for eligibility:
- Basic Entry Requirement: At least five credits in WASSCE, NECO, GCE, or equivalent. Acceptable alternatives include OND, NCE, IJMB, or A-Level passes.
- No Pass Degrees: Candidates with Pass degrees are not eligible.
- Third Class Graduates: Must first complete a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) before moving forward.
- Master’s Programme: Applicants must have at least a Second Class degree.
- M.Phil Programme: Requires a Weighted Average Score of 55% – 59%.
- Ph.D Programme: Requires at least 60% average in a Master’s degree. Candidates from other universities may need to retake some compulsory courses to meet UNIBEN’s standard.
- NYSC Certificate: No admission without proof of NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion certificate.
Referee Requirement
Each applicant must provide referees who will complete and submit recommendation forms directly to the School of Postgraduate Studies. Without referee reports, applications will not be processed.
Application Process and Cost
- Application Fee: ₦22,000 (non-refundable), payable online using VERVE or MasterCard ATM cards.
- Application Method: Strictly online via the UNIBEN portal.
- Required Documents: After filling the form correctly, applicants must print out both the application slip and referee forms.
- Important Warning: Incorrect or incomplete forms will not be processed.
Deadline for submission: 30th November 2025. No extensions will be granted.
Acceptance Fee After Admission
Successful candidates must pay a non-refundable acceptance fee of ₦60,000 before clearance. Without this payment, no candidate will be officially admitted.
