Nnamdi Azikiwe University Announces Key Details for 19th Convocation Ceremony

Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has unveiled the schedule and essential guidelines for its 19th Convocation Ceremony, set to take place from Wednesday, March 26th to Friday, March 28th, 2025. This momentous event will celebrate the achievements of graduates across various academic levels, including first degrees, postgraduate diplomas, master’s degrees, and PhDs.
Key Dates and Schedule
The convocation will unfold over three days, with each day dedicated to important ceremonies and activities:

- Vice-Chancellor’s Press Conference
Time: 9:30 AM | Venue: Council Chamber - Convocation Lecture & Award of Prizes
Time: 11:00 AM | Venue: University Auditorium - Thursday, March 27, 2025:
- Award of First Degrees
Time: 11:00 AM | Venue: Convocation Arena - Friday, March 28, 2025:
- Commissioning of Completed Projects
Time: 9:00 AM - Award of Higher Degrees, Honorary Degrees, and Installation of Emeriti Professors
Time: 11:00 AM | Venue: Convocation Arena
Important Information for Graduands
Graduands must ensure they complete all required payments before collecting their convocation materials.
Convocation Fees:
- First Degree: ₦27,000
- Master’s Degree & Postgraduate Diplomas: ₦71,300
- Ph.D.: ₦122,300 (includes gown and all required items)

- Order of Proceedings/Convocation Brochure
- Academic Outfits
- Certificate Scrolls
- UNIZIK T-shirt or Hoodie
- UNIZIK Cap
- UNIZIK Tie or Scarf
- UNIZIK Lapel Pin
Payment and Collection Details
- Payment Portal: Payments must be made through the UNIZIK ePayment Portal starting from Monday, February 10, 2025.
- Proof of Payment: Graduands must provide proof of payment when collecting materials.
- Collection of Academic Outfits:
- First Degree Graduands: Collect outfits from Faculties and Departments.
- Higher Degree Graduands: Collect outfits from the College of Postgraduate Studies.
- Collection Start Date: Monday, March 17, 2025.
- Return of Hired Gowns: All hired gowns must be returned by Wednesday, April 2, 2025 to avoid penalties.
Dress Code and Procession
Graduands are required to wear formal or national attire as they participate in the academic procession. The procession will begin at 9:30 AM daily. Graduands must assemble at the College of Postgraduate Studies for the procession.
Security and Parking Guidelines
- Security Measures: Bags and luggage will not be allowed inside the Convocation Arena.
- Parking: Parking spaces will be available for those with parking and invitation cards. Security personnel will assist in guiding vehicles to designated areas.
- Vendor Restrictions: Selling of items near the Convocation Arena will not be allowed.
