In a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior, Nigerians will observe public holidays on Friday, 18th April 2025, and Monday, 21st April 2025. These dates coincide with Good Friday and Easter Monday.

The announcement, made public by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, extends warm Easter greetings to Christians across the nation. The Minister emphasized the importance of the Easter season, encouraging Nigerians to reflect on its deeper meaning.

“Easter is a time for reflection on sacrifice, love, and unity,” Dr. Tunji-Ojo remarked. “It serves as a reminder of the ultimate sacrifice made by Jesus Christ for humanity, and it is a time for us all to come together in love and compassion.”

The Minister also urged Nigerians to pray for the peace and stability of the nation. He called for prayers for unity across all regions, asking citizens to seek national stability and prosperity.

He encouraged citizens to contribute to national growth by showing kindness to their neighbors and engaging in simple acts of helping and sharing.

With the official announcement, no work or official duties will take place on the specified dates, allowing everyone to celebrate and reflect on the significance of the Easter period.
