NBTE Approves New ND and HND Programmes at Federal Polytechnic Oko for 2025/2026 Session

Federal Polytechnic Oko has expanded its academic offerings.
The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has officially approved new National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes at the institution for the 2025/2026 academic session, opening more opportunities for prospective students across Nigeria.

The approval, announced by the management of the polytechnic, covers two new ND programmes and five science-based HND programmes, reinforcing the institution’s growing focus on science, technology, and applied education.

Newly Approved Programmes at Federal Polytechnic Oko

According to the management, the newly approved programmes are as follows:

National Diploma (ND) Programmes

  • ND Geological Technology
  • ND Horticultural Technology

Higher National Diploma (HND) Programmes

  • HND Microbiology
  • HND Biochemistry
  • HND Physics
  • HND Chemistry
  • HND Biology

The polytechnic emphasized that ND and HND are separate academic tracks, and applicants are advised to carefully choose the programme that matches their qualification level.

Admission Requirements Explained

Federal Polytechnic Oko outlined clear admission guidelines for interested candidates seeking admission into the newly approved programmes.

1. Make Federal Polytechnic Oko First Choice

Candidates must visit any accredited JAMB CBT centre to change their institution and make Federal Polytechnic Oko their first choice.

2. Required O’Level Credits

Applicants must possess at least five (5) relevant credit passes obtained in:

  • WAEC
  • NECO
  • NABTEB

The credits must include:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics

3. Minimum JAMB Score

Candidates are required to score a minimum of 100 marks in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
