What is CLARITY-Africa?

CLARITY-Africa is a research initiative examining how climate change, including extreme weather events like heatwaves and floods, affects the daily lives of people living in African cities. The programme focuses on understanding the vulnerabilities of specific communities and urban spaces to climate-related risks. The project is actively running in cities such as Accra, Tamale, Kigali, and Musanze.

Where Will the Research Take Place?

The PhD research can be conducted at either the University of Ghana or the AIMS Research and Innovation Centre, both of which are key partners in the programme. Leading the initiative is Imperial College London, alongside top African universities and urban groups, committed to exploring sustainable solutions for climate resilience.
