BMO Foundation Unveils ₦450,000 Annual Scholarship for Mbieri Undergraduates

In a move to ease the financial burden on university students, the BMO Foundation has announced its 2025 College Scholarship Programme, offering ₦450,000 annually to bright and deserving undergraduates from Mbieri, Imo State.

The initiative targets fresh and continuing students in Nigerian universities who demonstrate both academic excellence and financial need. Beyond easing tuition and upkeep pressures, the scholarship is designed to help students concentrate on learning and personal development — building a foundation for long-term success.

About the Scholarship

Each beneficiary of the BMO Foundation College Scholarship will receive ₦450,000 per academic session, covering tuition fees, books, and accommodation.

The scholarship is renewable throughout the duration of the student’s undergraduate programme (four or five years), provided the recipient maintains a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 3.5 on a 5.0 scale, or its equivalent.

This renewal clause ensures that dedicated students continue to enjoy uninterrupted support until graduation.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the BMO Foundation College Scholarship 2025, applicants must:

  • Be indigenes or residents of Mbieri.
  • Have gained admission into a recognised Nigerian university or degree-awarding institution.
  • Be a current or returning 200-level student who meets the CGPA requirement.
  • Submit proof of university admission, JAMB score, and a one-page personal essay explaining why they deserve the scholarship.

Why This Scholarship Matters

The BMO Foundation College Scholarship goes beyond financial assistance — it represents a bridge of opportunity for Mbieri youths who dream of higher education but face economic barriers.

By rewarding diligence and academic consistency, the Foundation hopes to inspire a new generation of scholars who can contribute meaningfully to their communities and the nation at large.
