Bayero University Kano (BUK) has officially opened applications for its Remedial Science Programme for the 2024/2025 academic session. This preparatory course is designed to help candidates meet the requirements needed for entry into degree programmes at the university.

  • Five O-level credits (including Mathematics, English, and relevant science subjects) in not more than two sittings.
  • Three O-level credits with the requirement to remedy the remaining subjects before gaining admission into a degree programme.

What Happens After Completing the Remedial Programme?

Successful candidates who meet the following conditions will be eligible for admission into degree programmes at BUK:

  • Five O-level credits, including Mathematics and English.
  • A minimum UTME score as required by BUK.
  • Candidates who pass the remedial programme but fall short of the UTME score may still be considered for admission if granted a JAMB waiver.

Validity of Results

The results from the remedial programme are valid for two admission sessions. This means that if you successfully complete the programme but do not meet the O-level or UTME requirements in your first attempt, you can still use your results to apply for the next academic session.

  • The Remedial Science Programme runs for one full academic session without interruptions.
  • The 2024/2025 session will begin in May 2025.
  • Candidates who successfully complete the programme will be eligible to continue their studies in degree programmes starting in the 2025/2026 academic session.

The application process requires a non-refundable fee of N5,000. This fee is necessary to access the online application form.
