Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, has officially declared the position of Vice-Chancellor vacant, effective July 13, 2025. The Governing Council is now calling on qualified Professors with deep academic and administrative experience to step forward and lead one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing private universities.

About Al-Hikmah University
Established in 2005, Al-Hikmah University is a private, Islamic faith-based institution with a strong commitment to excellence in education and research. Though rooted in Islamic values, the university offers a wide range of secular academic programmes and is open to all, regardless of background or belief.
In just under two decades, the institution has:

Role of the Vice-Chancellor
As the chief executive officer of the university, the Vice-Chancellor:
- Oversees academic, financial, and administrative operations
- Manages staff and students
- Ensures the enforcement of laws, statutes, and university regulations
- Reports directly to the Governing Council
Who Is Eligible?
Qualified applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a PhD in a relevant field
- Be a Professor with at least 7 years in that rank
- Have 15 years of academic and administrative experience in Nigerian universities
- Be no older than 64 years by the assumption date
- Be widely published and recognized nationally and internationally
- Be mentally and physically fit to perform the duties of the office
- Have a proven record of integrity, leadership, and financial prudence
- Be experienced in revenue generation, grant acquisition, and university governance
- Be ICT literate and ready to work with a diverse range of stakeholders
Terms of Appointment
- Duration: A single, non-renewable term of 5 years
- Remuneration: Comparable to other Nigerian universities

- A vision statement (750–1,000 words) outlining your 5-year plan for the university
