Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), one of Nigeria’s leading institutions, is now accepting applications for its Basic (IJMB) and Remedial programmes for the 2024/2025 academic session. These programmes are designed to help aspiring students secure admission into Nigerian universities through well-structured pathways.
What You Need to Know About the Programmes
Basic (IJMB) Programme
The IJMB programme prepares students for Direct Entry into Nigerian universities. This intensive 12-month programme provides students with the necessary academic foundation for university-level studies.
Remedial Programme
The Remedial programme, lasting for 9 months, is designed to bridge the gap for students who are seeking university admission but need to improve their qualifications. This programme is ideal for those aiming to enhance their academic performance and meet the required university standards.
Eligibility and Admission Requirements
IJMB Programme
To apply for the IJMB programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A minimum of five credits, including English and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.
- Subject combinations include:
- Biology, Chemistry, Physics
- Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics
- Physics, Chemistry, Geology
- Chemistry, Geography, Physics
- Geography, Mathematics, Physics
- Chemistry, Geology, Physics
- Admitted candidates are required to register for JAMB Direct Entry Admission.
Remedial Programme
To be eligible for the Remedial programme, applicants must have:
- At least three credits in science subjects in one sitting.
- Subject combinations include:
- English, Biology, Chemistry, Geography
- English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics
- English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Geography
- English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Geography
- Candidates must register for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), achieve the minimum pass mark, and select ABU as their first choice.
How to Apply
To apply for either programme, follow these simple steps:
- Pay a non-refundable application fee of ₦10,000.
- Visit the SBRS official site.
- Create an account or log in if you are a returning user.
- Fill in your details, upload your O’Level results, and a passport-sized photo.
- Choose the programme you want to apply for (IJMB or Remedial).
- Pay online via ATM card or print the transaction slip and pay at a bank.
- Submit your application by 31 January 2025.
