Igbinedion University Announces 23rd Convocation Ceremony for Class of 2025
Igbinedion University, Okada has officially released details of its 23rd Convocation Ceremony, a two-day celebration scheduled for November 2025. The event will honour academic excellence, personal growth and future career aspirations for graduating students, their families and the wider university community.

Day 1: Convocation Lecture – Friday, November 28, 2025
The ceremony will begin with a high-profile Convocation Lecture delivered by Honourable Dr Yusuf Tanko Sununu, Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
Dr Sununu will speak on the theme: “The Nexus between Education and National Prosperity in a Transformative Economy.”
Students, staff, alumni and invited guests will explore how education, skill development and public policy can drive sustainable national growth—insight that is especially relevant for graduates stepping into Nigeria’s workforce, innovation spaces and public service sectors.
Day 2: Degree Awards – Saturday, November 29, 2025
The second day will feature the main convocation ceremony, where the university will formally:
- Confer First Degrees on undergraduate students
- Confer Higher Degrees on postgraduate students
- Present special awards to distinguished graduates
The event will have in attendance Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). His presence underscores the connection between academic achievement, national service and early career opportunities for young Nigerians.
