The Federal Polytechnic Orogun has announced that its 2025/2026 National Diploma (ND) admission process will be handled solely through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s Central Admissions Processing System, widely known as JAMB CAPS.
In a statement issued by the institution, the polytechnic emphasized that no other platform or third-party channel is authorized for admission into its ND programmes. All prospective students are therefore urged to follow updates on JAMB CAPS only, as every admission offer begins and ends on that portal.
How to Check Your Federal Polytechnic Orogun Admission Status on JAMB CAPS
Candidates applying to the ND programmes can confirm their status only via CAPS.
Follow these steps:
- Visit the JAMB eFacility login portal
- Enter your JAMB username and password.
- Scroll and click “Check Admission Status.”
- Select “Access my CAPS.”
- Click “Admission Status.”
Once the page loads fully, you will see your name, chosen course, and a message showing your current admission position.
Understanding JAMB CAPS Admission Messages
JAMB CAPS displays different messages — each with a specific meaning:
1. ADMISSION OFFERED
JAMB has officially approved your admission. You may now accept or reject the offer.
2. ADMISSION IN PROGRESS (AIP)
Your name has been forwarded by the institution and awaits final approval by the school management and JAMB.
3. RECOMMENDED
The institution has recommended you for admission. JAMB will still review your eligibility before final approval.
4. NOT ADMITTED
You have not been offered admission yet. This could change if more names are uploaded.
5. PENDING
Your application is still under review. No final decision has been made at the moment.
Students are advised to check CAPS regularly because these messages can change as updates are released.
How to Accept or Reject Your Admission Offer
If your status shows “ADMISSION OFFERED,” you must take action immediately. There are two ways to accept or reject the offer:
Option 1: Visit an Accredited JAMB CBT Centre
You can complete the process through biometric verification.
Option 2: Use SMS Method (Your JAMB Registered Number)
- Send “ACCEPT” to 55019 or 66019
- Send “REJECT” to 55019 or 66019
Ensure you have at least N50 airtime. Borrowed airtime will not work.
Once accepted, print your JAMB Admission Letter for school clearance.
How to View CAPS Properly on a Mobile Phone
Some mobile devices show only a welcome screen without the full menu. To fix this:
- Open the CAPS page in Chrome or a similar browser.
- Click the browser menu.
- Select “Request Desktop Site” or “Desktop Mode.”
The full CAPS options — including “Admission Status” — will appear.
Why Accepting on CAPS Is Critical
Candidates who fail to accept their offer on JAMB CAPS will automatically lose the admission. The slot will be reassigned to another qualified candidate without prior notice.
Students are strongly advised to accept immediately, print their admission letter, and begin preparing required documents for clearance.
