UNILAG Overhauls Student Association Dues Collection to Boost Transparency and Ease
In a major administrative update, the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has unveiled a new faculty-level payment procedure for the collection of Student Association Dues across all faculties and departments.
According to the university, the new process will be carried out directly at the faculty level during the screening exercises for newly admitted students, replacing the old centralized system.
A Move Toward Transparency and Convenience
The university explained that this adjustment aims to enhance convenience, promote accountability, and ensure greater transparency in how dues are collected and managed.
By decentralizing the process, UNILAG seeks to eliminate delays that often occur under centralized payment methods while allowing faculties and departments to manage their student welfare activities more effectively.
“All fresh students are advised to take note of this directive and comply during their faculty screening sessions,” the statement read.
How to Pay UNILAG Student Association Dues
During the ongoing screening exercises, each faculty and departmental association at UNILAG will oversee the collection of dues from new students.
This payment forms an essential part of the registration process, contributing directly to:
- Student representation,
- Welfare programs, and
- Faculty-level activities.
Students are therefore encouraged to complete this payment promptly to ensure smooth registration and participation in faculty activities.
Stay Updated with UNILAG Announcements
UNILAG further advised students to stay connected to official university channels for timely updates and announcements.
Students can also join the UNILAG WhatsApp Channel to receive instant notifications, reminders, and important information regarding their academic and administrative obligations.
Commitment to Accountability
The University of Lagos reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a structured, transparent, and student-centered administrative process.
As the 2025 screening exercise continues, all new students are urged to adhere strictly to the new dues collection schedule set by their respective faculties.
