UNILAG Invites Applications for the Prestigious Prof. Ayo Ogunye Professorial Chair in Chemical Engineering
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has officially opened applications for the highly esteemed Professor Ayo Ogunye Professorial Chair in Chemical Engineering. Role Description
The appointed Professor will:
- Teach and supervise courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Introduce and manage new courses in advanced areas of Chemical Engineering.
- Lead cutting-edge research that contributes to the department’s academic and industrial development goals.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, candidates must:
- Hold a good first degree and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.
- Have at least 10 years of professorial experience and satisfy UNILAG’s standards for full professorship.
- Possess a strong portfolio of scholarly publications in reputable journals.
- Demonstrate ongoing research activity, postgraduate supervision experience, and administrative competence.
- Be below 67 years at the time of appointment.
- Exhibit proficiency in information technology and possess sound leadership qualities.
Remuneration and Benefits
The Professorial Chair comes with an enhanced salary package — CONUASS 7 plus a 20% mark-up — and additional benefits, including:

Tenure and Conditions of Service
