LASU Launches 2025 Work-Study Scheme for Undergraduates — A Chance to Build Digital Skills and Earn Experience
Lagos, Nigeria (October 21, 2025) — Lagos State University (LASU) has opened applications for its 2025 Work-Study Scheme, offering undergraduates an opportunity to gain hands-on digital experience while supporting the institution’s Open Educational Resources (OER) Portal Project.
The initiative is designed to give students practical exposure to digital content management, while helping LASU enhance access to academic materials through structured online storage and digitisation of theses and research works.
About the LASU Work-Study Scheme
The LASU Work-Study Scheme is a university-led programme that provides part-time employment opportunities for students within the institution. This year’s phase centres on the OER Portal Project, where participants will assist in converting, organising, and uploading academic resources into a digital format.
By participating, students contribute directly to LASU’s mission of improving research accessibility and fostering an academic environment driven by innovation and technology.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this year’s Work-Study Scheme, applicants must:
- Be a current undergraduate student in 300 Level or above.
- Maintain a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.0 or higher.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Internet use and digital literacy
Programme Details
- Location: LASU Postgraduate School
- Duration: Two weeks
- Dates: November 3 – November 15, 2025
- Workload: 2–3 hours daily (flexible schedule)
Participants will gain practical experience in managing digital academic tools and materials. The project provides a real-world learning environment that strengthens employability skills while contributing to the university’s technological advancement.
Remuneration
Selected students will receive a stipend upon successful completion of the project — a reward that acknowledges their effort and contribution to enhancing academic accessibility within LASU.
