Nnamdi Azikiwe University Unveils Full 2025/2026 Academic Calendar
If you’ve been eagerly waiting to know when Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, will officially resume for the 2025/2026 academic session — the wait is over. The Vice-Chancellor has approved and released the official UNIZIK academic calendar, detailing every major activity from resumption to examinations and breaks.
With the release, both returning and newly admitted students can now start planning ahead for lectures, registration, and all campus engagements.
First Semester 2025/2026: From Resumption to Exams
The first semester begins with students returning to campus on Monday, October 6, 2025. Registration, payment of school fees, and documentation will follow immediately.
- October 8, 2025: Lectures resume for returning students.
- October 13, 2025: Freshers begin lectures and continue registration.
- December 17, 2025: UNIZIK holds its annual Christmas Carol Celebration.
- December 22, 2025 – January 3, 2026: Christmas and New Year Break.
- January 23, 2026: Matriculation Ceremony for new students.
- February 6, 2026: UNIZIK’s 2024/2025 Convocation Ceremony.
- March 2 – March 27, 2026: First Semester Examinations.
- March 30 – April 24, 2026: Easter Vacation.
The first semester officially ends on Friday, March 27, 2026, paving the way for a month-long break.
Second Semester 2025/2026: Lectures, Projects, and Graduation Prep
The second semester kicks off on Monday, April 27, 2026, and promises an even busier schedule:
- June 1, 2026: University-wide quiz.
- July 20 – 24, 2026: Revision Week.
- August 3 – 7, 2026: School of General Studies (GS) Examinations.
- August 10 – 28, 2026: Second Semester Examinations and Project Defenses.
