Nigerian Air Force Opens 2025 Direct Short Service Recruitment: How to Apply
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has officially announced the opening of its Direct Short Service (DSSC) recruitment for 2025, giving skilled graduates across the country a golden chance to serve the nation in uniform.
Online registration will run from Wednesday, August 27, 2025, to Tuesday, October 7, 2025, via the NAF recruitment portal. After the application stage, shortlisted candidates will sit for a zonal aptitude test, with the date to be announced later on the portal.
Who Can Apply?
To make things clear, here are the key eligibility requirements:
- Must be a Nigerian citizen by birth.
- Age: 20–32 years (except for medical doctors who are consultants, 25–40 years).
- Not open to serving personnel seeking branch commission. Serving personnel may apply only if they have 10 years of service, are at least Corporal rank, and obtain written approval from their Commander.
- Height: At least 1.66m (male) or 1.63m (female).
- Must be medically and physically fit, with no criminal record.
Academic and Professional Requirements
Applicants must meet these conditions:
- First Degree with Second Class Upper or HND with Upper Credit.
- NYSC Discharge or Exemption certificate.
- O’Level with at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics.
- Extra advantage: M.Sc, M.A, computer skills, or professional membership.
- Medical applicants must hold a valid practicing license with their Nigerian professional council.
How to Apply
- Visit the official NAF recruitment portal and fill out the free online application form.
- Before starting, check the full list of accepted disciplines on the portal.
- After submission, print these forms:
- Acknowledgement Form
- Parent/Guardian Consent Form
- Local Government Area (LGA) Attestation Form
Note on Attestation Form
The attestation form must be signed by any of the following:
- A Military Officer (minimum Wing Commander or equivalent rank in Army/Navy) from your state.
- A Police Officer of Assistant Commissioner rank or above.
- Local Government Chairman/Secretary.
- A Magistrate from your state.
Applicants must also attach:
- A passport photo of the signatory.
- A copy of their Driver’s License, National ID, or International Passport.
Invalid entries will not allow the forms to print, so check your details carefully.
What Happens After Applying?
- Monitor the NAF recruitment portal for the Zonal Aptitude Test date.
- Only candidates who pass the test will move to the Selection Interview.
- Carry original copies of all documents to the interview. Missing documents will lead to disqualification.
