Yusuf Maitama Sule University Announces 2nd Combined Convocation for 2018–2024 Graduates
Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano (YUMSUK), formerly known as Northwest University, has officially released the full details for its 2nd Combined Convocation Ceremony, which will celebrate six years of academic achievement.
The highly anticipated event will honour graduating students from the 2018/2019 to 2023/2024 academic sessions. If you’re among those who earned your degree during this period, this is your moment to shine.
Convocation Events Schedule
Friday, 25th July 2025
Pre-Convocation Lecture
Time: 4:00 PM
Venue: Hafiz Abubakar Auditorium, City Campus
Saturday, 26th July 2025
Main Convocation Ceremony
Time: 9:00 AM
Venue: Convocation Arena, Main Campus
Event: Conferment of First Degrees, Higher Degrees, and Honorary Awards

Graduands from any of the following academic years are invited:

How to Participate in the Convocation
Here’s a step-by-step guide to ensure you’re fully prepared:
Step 1: Generate Your Invoice
Visit the official YUMSUK Convocation Page to create your payment invoice.
Step 2: Make Your Payment
Pay the required convocation fee using the invoice generated. This is mandatory for all participating graduands.
Step 3: Collect Your Academic Gown
Present your proof of payment at your Faculty Office to collect your gown.
Payment Timeline
- Opens: Monday, 14th July 2025
- Closes: Tuesday, 23rd July 2025
No late payments will be accepted!
Academic Gown Collection & Return
- Pick-Up Starts: Friday, 18th July 2025
- Return Window: Monday, 29th – Wednesday, 31st July 2025
Only students who have paid and collected their academic gown will be allowed into the Convocation Arena on the big day. Miss any step and you’ll miss the celebration.
