The Standard College of Nursing Sciences, Minna, has officially opened admission for its 2025/2026 academic session. The college is inviting qualified Registered Community Nurses (RCNs) and Registered Community Midwives (RCMs) to apply for its Post-Community Nursing and Midwifery programmes.

These 18-month full-time programmes offer a fast-track upgrade to become a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Midwife (RM) — and it’s fully accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).


About the Programmes

The Post-Community Programmes are specially designed for community-based health workers who want to transition into broader clinical practice. With a blend of theory and hands-on experience, you’ll be prepared for both hospital and community-based roles.

Post-Community Nursing

Perfect for RCNs looking to specialize in:

  • Chronic disease care
  • Emergency management
  • Basic surgical procedures
  • Long-term hospital care

Post-Community Midwifery

Ideal for RCMs focusing on:

  • Antenatal and postnatal care
  • Safe delivery practices

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must:

  • Hold a valid RCN or RCM licence (NMCN certified)
  • Have five O’Level credits (English, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics) from WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB — max of two sittings
  • Submit a medical fitness certificate
  • Provide a reference letter (from an employer or academic body)
    Note: RCMs will be given priority for the Midwifery track.
