Made a Mistake During JAMB Registration? Here’s How to Fix It
If you noticed an error in your JAMB registration—like a wrong name, birth date, passport photo, or course—you don’t need to panic. JAMB gives candidates the opportunity to correct most of these issues.
However, it’s important to note that some corrections are only allowed once, so you should be careful when making changes.
What You Can Correct on the JAMB Portal
- Name
Mistakes in your surname, first name, or middle name can be corrected, but only once. - Date of Birth
If your birth date was entered incorrectly, you have one opportunity to correct it. - Passport Photograph
Wrong passport uploaded? You are allowed to update your photo once. - Gender
Gender corrections are allowed, but you may be required to provide supporting documents. - State and Local Government Area (LGA)
You can correct your state or LGA of origin if filled incorrectly. Some form of proof may be needed. - Profile Details
You can change your registered email or phone number, but only once. - Course or Institution
You are allowed to change your course or preferred school more than once, but a fee applies each time.
How Much Does JAMB Data Correction Cost?
Each correction, including name, date of birth, gender, state, LGA, course, or institution, costs ₦3,500. This amount includes the service fee at the CBT centre.
How to Make JAMB Corrections (For 2025 Candidates)
- Visit the JAMB eFacility portal: JAMB eFacility portal.
- Log in using your registered email and password
- Click on “Registration (2025 only)”
- Select either “2025 UTME Data Correction” or “2025 DE Data Correction”
- Make the payment of ₦3,500 online
- After payment, go to the nearest JAMB office or an accredited CBT centre to finalize the correction
For 2024 or Earlier Registrations
If you registered before 2025, use the steps below:
- Log in to the JAMB eFacility portal.
- Click “Application for Correction of Data (2024 Downward)”
- Select the specific data you want to change (e.g., name, DOB, course)
- Visit a JAMB office to complete the final stage of the correction process
