PZ Cussons Awards N100 Million Laboratory Upgrade Grant to Usmanu Danfodio University Sokoto

Usmanu Danfodio University Sokoto has been selected amongst five worthy beneficiaries to benefit from a laboratory upgrade grant by PZ Cussons.

The grant amounting to N100 million per university was awarded to each university for the upgrade of their laboratories in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.

During the award ceremony and signing of the agreement at the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) the Director General, Dr. DanAzumi M Ibrahim highlighted that the funding is a part of the NOTAP Industry Research Laboratory Upgrade Project funded by PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc in a bid to strengthen research and development with the aim of bridging the deficit that exists between the academia and industrial sector.

Other recipients of the award include; University of PortHarcourt, University of Jos, Federal University of Technology Akure and Michael Okpara University of Technology Abia State.

The Vice Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Prof. LS Bilbis, expressed satisfaction with the progress made to ensure proper collaboration between the academia and the industrial sector. He also promised judicious utilization of the instruments to ensure impactful research output.
