Osun State Polytechnic Postpones First Semester Exams: New Date, Key Deadlines, and What Students Must Know
In a move to give students more time to complete essential academic requirements, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has officially postponed the commencement of its first semester examinations for the 2024/2025 academic session.
Originally scheduled to begin on Monday, April 28, 2025, the exams will now start on Monday, May 5, 2025.
Why the Exam Date Was Shifted
The Polytechnic’s management said the one-week shift is meant to accommodate students who are yet to:
- Pay their school fees
- Complete their course registration
This decision is aimed at ensuring all eligible students are given a fair chance to participate in the exams without being left behind due to administrative delays.
“This is to give grace to students who are yet to meet key requirements,” the statement from the school noted.
What You Must Do Before the New Deadline
If you’re a student at Osun State Polytechnic, here’s what you must do before the Friday, May 2, 2025 deadline:
- Pay your school fees in full.
- Register all your courses for the semester.
These steps are compulsory. No student will be allowed to sit for exams without meeting both conditions.
Penalty for Missing the Deadline
Management has made it clear: Students who fail to pay and register by May 2 will be fined.
This penalty will apply strictly and immediately after the deadline. There will be no further extension.
What Students Should Do Now
The Polytechnic strongly advises students to:
- Take immediate action on fee payment and course registration.
- Avoid last-minute rush that could result in errors or additional penalties.
- Share this important update with friends and classmates to keep everyone informed.
This postponement is not just a delay — it’s a second chance. Take it seriously, act early, and prepare well for your exams.
