University of Abuja Opens Applications for 2024/2025 Postgraduate and Professional Diploma Programmes

Professional Master’s and Doctorate Degrees:

  • Nursing: Nursing Informatics, Oncology Nursing, Nuclear Nursing, Sports Nursing, Orthopaedics Nursing, Nursing Jurisprudence, Forensic Nursing, Otorhinolaryngology (Ear, Nose, and Throat) Nursing, Geriatrics and Gerontology Nursing, Mental Health & Psychiatry Nursing, School Health Nursing, Nephrology Nursing, Occupational Health & Safety Nursing.
  • Midwifery: Clinical Midwifery, Community Midwifery, Midwifery Education and Research.
  • Community Health: Master’s and Doctorate in Community Health.
  • Public Health: Health Administration and Management, Health Policy, Health Economics, Health Promotion, Global Health Diplomacy, Health Ethics and Professionalism, Health Informatics, Statistics, Epidemiology, General Public Health, Health Systems Leadership, Mental Health/Behavioral Science, Environmental Health, Healthcare Quality, Patient Safety, and Risk Management.
  • Allied Health: Infectious Diseases and Vaccinology, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Diagnostic Virology and Cell Culture, Medical Laboratory Reagent Production, Medical Laboratory Instrumentation, Quality Management System, Supply Chain Management and Health Commodities.

Professional Diploma in Care-Giving:

This programme is ideal for those working or planning to work in caregiving sectors such as old people’s homes, hospitals, rehabilitation centres, hospices, and special schools.

Basic Admission Requirements:

For entry into these postgraduate and professional programmes, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • O’Level: Five credit passes in English, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree: At least a Second Class Lower (2:2) in Allied Health Sciences, Biological Science, or Biomedical Sciences (e.g., Microbiology, Biochemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing).
  • Nursing Programmes: A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

For specific programmes like Master’s in Public Health, candidates must select a concentration area during application.

Programme Duration:

  • Doctoral (Full-time): Minimum 36 months, maximum 72 months.
  • Doctoral (Part-time): Minimum 60 months, maximum 96 months.
  • Master’s (Full-time): Minimum 21 months, maximum 30 months.
  • Master’s in Community Health (Full-time): Minimum 12 months, maximum 18 months.
  • Postgraduate Diploma (Full-time): Minimum 12 months, maximum 18 months.

The application fee for all programmes is ₦30,000 (non-refundable). To apply, visit the University of Abuja Integrated Portal and make payments through REMITA. The application deadline is Tuesday, 30th April 2025.
