FUOYE Announces 9th Convocation Ceremony Schedule: A Week of Celebrations and Milestones
The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) is set to host its 9th Convocation Ceremonies from Monday, 17th February 2025 to Sunday, 23rd February 2025, marking a week of remarkable achievements and celebrations. The events will showcase the university’s growth, its contributions to the community, and the impressive accomplishments of its graduating students.
Full Schedule of Events:
Monday, 17th February 2025
The celebrations kick off with a Vice-Chancellor’s Press Conference from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Council Chamber, where FUOYE’s leadership will address the media on the university’s achievements and plans for the future.
Following the press conference, a series of project commissioning events will take place across the Oye campus, including:
- 1000-Seater Auditorium
- Conference Centre
- Faculty of Science Laboratory
- New CBT Centre
- Professorial Office Complex
- Postgraduate Studies Complex
- Faculty of Education Building
- Faculty of Law Complex
- Sports Pavilion
- Innovation Hub
Tuesday, 18th February 2025
FUOYE continues its community engagement with a Free Health Care Program for the Oye-Ekiti Community from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Palace of Oloye of Oye-Ekiti.
Wednesday, 19th February 2025
The university extends its outreach to Ikole-Ekiti, with another Free Health Care Program from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Palace of Elekole of Ikole-Ekiti.
Additionally, FUOYE will be commissioning several projects across the Ayedun-Ekiti, including:
- Ultra-Modern Laboratory
- Two Modern Lecture Halls
- Sports Complex
The Ikole Campus will also see the opening of new facilities, such as: - Professorial Building – Faculty of Agriculture
- 250-Seater Lecture Theatre
- Faculty of Agriculture Laboratory
- Block of Six Classrooms
A special Induction of Engineering Students will take place from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Faculty of Engineering Lecture Hall.
Thursday, 20th February 2025
A day to recognize excellence at FUOYE, the Vice-Chancellor’s Staff Excellence Awards will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
In the afternoon, FUOYE will host a Fundraising Event and Edutainment Session from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Faculty of Science Lecture Hall, featuring a Command Performance by Theatre and Media Arts Students.
Friday, 21st February 2025
The Award of Bachelor’s Degrees, Diplomas, and Prizes will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the 1000-Seater Auditorium, Oye Campus.
The day will conclude with the Jummah Service from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the University Mosque.
Saturday, 22nd February 2025
A Convocation Lecture by Arc Sonny Sylva Echono will be delivered from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
The awarding of Postgraduate Diplomas, Degrees, and Honorary Degrees will follow, taking place from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the 1000-Seater Auditorium.
Sunday, 23rd February 2025
The celebrations will culminate in a Thanksgiving Service at 11:00 AM at the University Chapel.
Graduates and their families are encouraged to attend each scheduled event to celebrate this significant academic milestone.
