The Emmanuel Idowu and Maria Ajike Areogun Scholarship Foundation (LEIMAAF) is offering a unique opportunity for Christian students enrolled in public universities across Nigeria. Established in 2015, LEIMAAF aims to support students facing financial challenges while pursuing their education, by covering tuition fees and offering career mentorship to help them achieve their academic and professional goals.
Two Scholarship Categories to Apply For
LEIMAAF offers two distinct scholarships designed to support students at different stages of their academic journey:
- SOAR Accessibility Scholarship: This category is for students who are facing financial hardship but show great promise and potential in their studies.
- SOAR Excellence Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to high-achieving students who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for the LEIMAAF scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be enrolled in a public higher institution in Nigeria.
- Be committed to completing a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
- Demonstrate a genuine financial need and lack the means to pay for tuition fees.
- Maintain a minimum CGPA of 4.5 (for SOAR Excellence Scholarship applicants) by the time they are in their second year (200 level) or higher.
- Submit an academic report for the previous session.
- Display perseverance and resilience in overcoming challenges.
How to Apply
The application process is straightforward. Follow these steps to apply:
- Fill out the online application form on the official LEIMAAF website.
- Submit all required documents.

- Completed application form.
- Recent passport-sized photograph.
- Photocopy of your school ID card.
- Copies of your O’Level, JAMB, and Post-UTME results.
- Admission letter from your institution.
- Evidence of registration for the previous academic session.
- Academic transcript or report for the last session.
- Recommendation letter from your parents (for SOAR Accessibility applicants).
- Commitment letter ensuring focus on academics and Christian values.
- Recommendation letter from your local church pastor (emailed directly by the pastor).
