Nigerian Law School Releases 2025/2026 Bar Part II Academic Calendar

The Council of Legal Education (CLE) has officially released the 2025/2026 Bar Part II academic calendar for the Nigerian Law School, covering all campuses in Abuja, Lagos, Enugu, Kano, Yola, Yenagoa, and Port-Harcourt. The academic session runs from 2 March to 18 December 2026, with key activities including registration, lectures, externships, Bar finals, and post-exam programs. Dates for result publication and Call to Bar ceremonies are yet to be announced.

Key Dates and Activities

Registration and Induction:

  • 2–13 March 2026 – Registration, induction, and mock trials

1st Term (Lectures and Term Events):

  • 16 March 2026 – Lectures commence
  • 14 April 2026 – Director-General’s address
  • 21–23 April 2026 – 1st Term Bob Dinner
  • 12–14 May 2026 – 2nd Bob Dinner and lecture conclusion
  • 14 May 2026 – Pre-externship workshop

2nd Term (Externship Period):

  • 18 May – 19 June 2026 – Court externship
  • 22–26 June 2026 – Mid-externship vacation
  • 29 June – 31 July 2026 – Chambers externship
  • 3–7 August 2026 – Post-externship vacation

3rd Term (Final Lectures and Examinations):

  • 10–21 August 2026 – Portfolio assessment
  • 24–28 August 2026 – Mock registry practice & NBA conference
  • 31 August – 9 October 2026 – Lectures
  • 12–23 October 2026 – Mooting, mock registry activities, SRC Law Week, and mock trials
  • 13–15 October 2026 – 3rd Term Bob Dinner
  • 22 October 2026 – Bob annual lecture
  • 26–30 October 2026 – Revision week
  • 31 October – 7 November 2026 – Bar final examinations
  • 9 November – 18 December 2026 – Post-exam activities

The Nigerian Law School emphasizes that these dates are uniform across all seven campuses. Candidates are advised to plan accordingly, especially for externship placements and final examinations.

While the publication of results and the Call to Bar ceremony remain to be announced, the CLE assures candidates that notices will be communicated promptly.

This calendar is a vital roadmap for all Bar Part II candidates aiming to meet the mandatory requirements for graduation and eventual Call to Bar in 2026.
