Kariyoma College of Nursing Sciences, Lafia Gets Official Approval from Education Ministry
The Federal Ministry of Education has officially approved the establishment of Kariyoma College of Nursing Sciences, Lafia, following a successful application and resources inspection visit. The approval, effective from 6 February 2026, marks a major milestone for the institution and the state’s healthcare education sector.
Interim Accreditation Granted for ND Nursing Sciences & Institutional Administration
The Ministry has granted interim accreditation for the following programmes:
- ND Nursing Sciences
- Institutional Administration
These programmes are approved for take-off according to the number of streams specified in the official notice. The College is expected to strictly comply with existing government regulations and policies that govern private polytechnics and similar institutions.
Admission Timeline for Students
Admissions into the approved programmes will commence from the 2025/2026 academic session. The Ministry’s approval comes with a key condition: failure to admit students within this period will cause the approval to lapse, necessitating a fresh resources inspection before any future admissions can take place.
Initial Accreditation Schedule
The first accreditation review for the approved programmes is scheduled when the inaugural student cohort reaches their third or fourth semester, in line with Ministry guidelines. This ensures the programmes meet national standards for quality nursing and administrative education.
