Federal Polytechnic, Idah Announces 2025/2026 New Students Orientation Schedule

The Federal Polytechnic, Idah has officially released the orientation schedule for its 2025/2026 newly admitted students. The programme is set to run from 23 to 28 February 2026, with all sessions beginning at 10:00 a.m.

The orientation, approved by the Polytechnic’s Academic Board, is designed to familiarize new students with academic regulations, examination procedures, and proper conduct within the institution.

Orientation Schedule and Highlights

Day 1 – Departmental Orientation

  • Date: Monday, 23 February 2026
  • Time: 10:00 a.m.
  • Venue: Assigned by Heads of Departments (HODs)

This session will focus on:

  • Understanding the semester system
  • Calculation of Grade Point Average (GPA)
  • Registration procedures

Heads of Departments and Examination Officers will lead the session, guiding students on how to navigate academic expectations. Students are advised to attend prepared to take notes and follow instructions.

Day 2 – School Orientation Programme

  • Date: Tuesday, 24 February 2026
  • Time: 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Venue: Set by the Deans of respective schools

Key areas of focus include:

  • Examination conduct
  • Examination misconduct and penalties
  • Other examination-related guidelines

School Deans and Exams Officers will handle presentations. Students are expected to adhere strictly to the rules communicated during the session.

Official Memo and Community Instruction

The orientation schedule was issued via an internal memo from the Dean of Student Affairs, urging the Polytechnic community to ensure full participation of all newly admitted students. Attendance and active engagement are mandatory throughout the orientation period.
