NABTEB Releases 2025 Nov/Dec GCE Results as 60% Secure Five Credits Including English and Maths

Thousands of candidates who sat for the 2025 NABTEB Nov/Dec GCE can now access their results, as the examination body reports improved performance and lower malpractice rates.

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has officially released the 2025 November/December NBC/NTC and ANBC/ANTC examination results, announcing that 60% of candidates earned five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics.

Speaking at the Board’s headquarters in Benin City, Registrar and CEO Dr. Aminu Mohammed said the results were published 64 days after the final examination paper, describing the turnaround time as a sign of operational efficiency.

Strong Growth in Candidate Registration

According to NABTEB, a total of 61,591 candidates registered nationwide for the 2025 Nov/Dec examinations. The breakdown includes:

  • 57,444 ordinary level candidates
  • 4,147 advanced level candidates

The Board noted that this represents a 28.42% increase compared to the 2024 registration figures.

Examinations were conducted across 2,079 centres nationwide, marking a 13.92% rise in the number of centres used for the exercise.

Performance Across Trade Areas

NABTEB reported varying performance levels across different trade areas. Candidates in Construction, Engineering, and Miscellaneous Trades recorded higher pass rates than those in Business Trades.

Overall, the Board said more than half of all candidates qualified as craftsmen and master craftsmen, reflecting steady progress in Nigeria’s technical and vocational education sector.

Drop in Examination Malpractice

On examination malpractice, NABTEB disclosed that 259 candidates, representing 0.42%, were implicated in malpractice cases. The Board said the figure shows a slight decrease from 2024 levels.

Officials attributed the improvement to enhanced monitoring systems and closer collaboration with security agencies during the examination period.

Focus on TVET and 2026 Registration Update

Dr. Mohammed reaffirmed NABTEB’s commitment to strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Nigeria through expanded partnerships and new initiatives.

He also announced that registration for the 2026 in-school NBC/NTC examinations has commenced, urging schools and candidates to begin preparations early.
