Delta State Opens 2026 TEP Registration for Students of State-Owned Universities

As part of its push to nurture student entrepreneurs, the Delta State Government has officially opened registration for the 2026 Tertiary Institutions Entrepreneurship Programme (TEP). The programme targets eligible undergraduates of selected state-owned universities, offering them a platform to turn viable business ideas into sustainable ventures.

Registration for the scheme begins Monday, 2 February 2026, and applications will be processed strictly online through the official TEP portal.


What is the TEP Programme?

The Tertiary Institutions Entrepreneurship Programme (TEP) is a Delta State Government initiative designed to promote entrepreneurship among undergraduates. It focuses on identifying students with bankable and innovative business ideas and equipping them with support, training, and opportunities to grow those ideas into real businesses.

According to the state government, all submissions will undergo a screening process, making it essential for applicants to provide accurate information and valid supporting documents.

Who Is Eligible to Apply?

To qualify for the 2026 Delta State TEP, applicants must meet all the conditions below:

Eligible Universities

Applicants must be students of one of the following Delta State-owned universities:

  • University of Delta (UNIDEL)
  • Delta State University (DELSU)
  • Southern Delta University (SDU)
  • Dennis Osadebay University (DOU)

Other Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must also:

  • Be of Delta State origin
  • Be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Be in 200 Level, 300 Level, or penultimate year
  • Have a minimum CGPA of 2.5
  • Present a clear, specific, and bankable business idea

Documents Required for TEP Application

During the online application process, candidates are required to upload the following documents:

  • Recent passport photograph
  • University admission letter
  • Birth certificate
  • Local Government of Origin certificate
  • Detailed business plan proposal

Only applicants with complete and verifiable documents will be considered during screening.
