UNICAL to Shut 2025/2026 Registration Portal Feb 1 as Exams Begin Feb 16
The University of Calabar (UNICAL) has announced a final deadline for student registration for the 2025/2026 academic session, warning that no further extensions will be granted and that defaulting students risk being barred from examinations.
In an official memo released by the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), the university confirmed that the online registration portal will close at exactly 12:00 midnight on Sunday, February 1, 2026. The announcement follows repeated appeals from the Students’ Union Government (SUG) and other stakeholders, which prompted management to approve a last extension.
“This is a firm deadline. The portal will not remain open after the stated time,” the memo emphasized.

- 100 Level and General Studies (GSS) examination dates are yet to be announced, and students are advised to stay alert for further official updates.
Important Warning to Students
UNICAL has issued a strong warning that failure to complete registration before the deadline may automatically disqualify affected students from sitting for the forthcoming examinations. The memo makes it clear that this consequence will be enforced without exception.
