BSUAST Approves 2025/2026 School Fees for Fresh Undergraduates, Introduces Flexible 70/30 Payment Option

The Benue State University of Agriculture, Science and Technology (BSUAST) has officially approved the school fees schedule for fresh undergraduate students for the 2025/2026 academic session, with charges structured by programme category and indigene status.

The approval followed a joint meeting of the University’s Principal Officers, Deans, and Directors, after which the Vice-Chancellor, acting on behalf of the University Senate, endorsed the service-based charges applicable to newly admitted students.

According to the released schedule, BSUAST programmes are grouped into three categories — A, B, and C — with different fees for Benue State indigenes and non-indigenes. The university has also introduced a flexible split-payment option, allowing students to pay fees in two instalments.

Group A: Non-Laboratory / Non-Workshop Programmes

  • Benue State indigenes: ₦265,000
  • Non-Benue State indigenes: ₦365,000

Group B: Laboratory / Field-Based Programmes (Sciences & Agriculture)

  • Benue State indigenes: ₦310,000
  • Non-Benue State indigenes: ₦425,000

Group C: Engineering & Computing (Workshop / Studio-Intensive)

  • Benue State indigenes: ₦340,000
  • Non-Benue State indigenes: ₦455,000

These figures represent the total approved charges for fresh students in each programme category.

Although tuition remains free for all students, other mandatory service charges apply as follows:

  • Tuition: ₦0.00 (Indigenes & Non-Indigenes)
  • Examination Levy: ₦20,000
  • Library Services: ₦20,000
  • ICT / E-Learning (Wi-Fi & LMS):
    • Indigenes: ₦40,000
    • Non-Indigenes: ₦50,000
  • Academic Gown Levy: ₦10,000
  • Medical Services:

Flexible Payment Option for New Students

To ease financial pressure, BSUAST (also referred to as UAST in the official schedule) allows split payment:

  • 70% payable at resumption / during registration

Accommodation Details

  • Hostel accommodation is optional
  • Standard bed-space fee: ₦160,000
  • Hostel charges are separate from school fees
