SAZU to Matriculate Fresh Students January 28

Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU) has officially announced the date and guidelines for its 2025/2026 matriculation ceremony for newly admitted students.

In a notice issued by the Matriculation Committee and signed on behalf of the university, SAZU confirmed that the ceremony will hold on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, and will be conducted simultaneously at two campuses.

Matriculation Date and Venues

  • Date: Wednesday, 28 January 2026
  • Venues:
    • Gadau Campus
    • Yuli Campus

The university explained that the dual-campus arrangement means the same matriculation ceremony will run at the same time in different locations. Fresh students are therefore advised to attend the ceremony at the campus they have been assigned to.

Matriculation Fee and Payment Method

All fresh students are required to pay a non-refundable matriculation fee of ₦1,000.

  • Payment platform: Remita
  • Purpose: Academic gown collection

Students must present their Remita payment receipt at the designated collection point before they can receive an academic gown. The rule is clear: no receipt, no gown.

Academic Gown Collection and Return

SAZU stated that gown collection is strictly tied to proof of payment. After the matriculation ceremony, students are required to return the academic gown on or before Friday, January 30, 2026, at the same collection point.

Late Return Penalty

The university warned that failure to return the gown by the deadline will attract a late return penalty of ₦5,000. The fee is fixed, and affected students will be required to pay it before the matter can be resolved.

Important Advice to Fresh Students

The Matriculation Committee urged all newly admitted students to strictly comply with the guidelines to ensure a smooth and orderly matriculation ceremony.

For freshers, the message is simple: pay early, collect your gown with your receipt, attend your campus ceremony, and return the gown on time — no one wants a ₦5,000 penalty story after taking the matriculation oath.

SAZU says adherence to these instructions will help make the 2025/2026 matriculation ceremony successful across both campuses.
