As preparations intensify for the 29th and 30th combined convocation ceremonies of Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola, the university’s financial arm, MAU Microfinance Bank, has officially released the approved charges for hiring academic gowns.
The announcement, contained in a formal notice signed by the Registrar of the university, provides clear guidance for graduands on how much they are expected to pay based on their level of qualification. The notice was addressed to the General Manager of MAU Microfinance Bank for implementation.
Official Gown Hiring Charges
According to the notice, the approved gown hiring fees are as follows:
- Certificate/Diploma: ₦1,000
- First Degree: ₦2,000
- Masters/PGD: ₦3,000
- Doctorate (PhD): ₦5,000
Graduands are advised to carefully match their programme category with the correct fee before making payment, as the charges are strictly based on qualification level.
What the Registrar’s Notice Explained
In the memo sent to the bank’s management, the Registrar stated that the information was provided “for the bank’s information and further necessary action.” The notice also expressed appreciation to the bank for its continued cooperation and urged all concerned parties to take note of the approved charges ahead of the ceremony.
While the fees may seem like a minor administrative detail, university officials emphasize that early awareness helps ensure a smooth and well-organized convocation process, especially for thousands of graduands expected to participate.
As MAU counts down to its landmark 29th/30th convocation ceremonies, students are encouraged to stay informed and comply with all official guidelines to avoid last-minute issues on the big day.
