ABU Zaria Releases Additional Hostel Bedspaces for 2025/2026 Session: Booking Opens January 17
Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has announced the release of additional hostel bedspaces for undergraduate students as part of the mop-up phase of the 2025/2026 accommodation exercise.
The update, issued by the Student Affairs Division, offers fresh hope to students who were unable to secure accommodation during the earlier rounds.
When Booking and Payment Begin
Reservation and payment for the newly released bedspaces will open at exactly 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026.
Students are strongly advised to pay immediately after securing a reservation, as ABU warned that unpaid slots may be revoked without notice.
Hostels Available for Female Students
Female students—both fresh and returning—can book bedspaces in the following hostels:
- Ramat Hall – Blocks F, G, and H
- Suleiman Hall – A Blocks
The university also disclosed that renovation works at the Ramat Blocks are expected to be completed over the weekend, making them ready for occupation.
Hostels Available for Male Students
For male students, bedspaces are available in:
- Danfodio Extension – Blocks 1 and 2
- Shehu Idris Hall
These hostels make up the final allocation in the current accommodation exercise.
Hostels Already Fully Reserved
ABU confirmed that all other hostels are now fully booked, including:
- Amina Hall
- Ribadu Hall
- Alexander Hall
- Suleiman Hall – F Blocks
Students seeking accommodation are therefore limited to the mop-up options listed above.
Hall Residency Rules: What Students Must Know
The Student Affairs Division reminded residents to strictly adhere to Hall Residency Regulations, stressing the following key rules:
- Do not write on hostel walls
- Use electricity responsibly
- Report room or facility issues promptly to hall administrators
The university emphasized that students will be held financially responsible for any damage caused to rooms or hostel facilities.
