TASFUED Raises Alarm Over Fake Job Portal as Fraudsters Target Job Seekers

Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED), Ijagun, has issued a strong public warning against a fraudulent employment portal currently circulating online and falsely claiming to recruit staff for the institution.

In an official disclaimer released by the university’s management, TASFUED said the website and the messages promoting it are not connected to the university in any way and should be completely ignored by the public.

Fake job portal targeting applicants

According to the university, fraudsters are using the fake portal to solicit applications from unsuspecting job seekers, creating the false impression that TASFUED is currently recruiting.

The management described the platform as fraudulent and urged Nigerians not to fall victim to the scam.

“Members of the public are advised to disregard the purported employment portal as it is not authorized by the university,” the statement said.

How TASFUED truly recruits staff

TASFUED clarified that, as a Federal Government university, all its recruitment processes strictly follow authorised establishment procedures approved by the government.

The institution emphasized that genuine job vacancies do not appear on random websites, social media pages, or unofficial portals.

Instead, whenever there are real employment opportunities, they are announced through public advertisements in reputable national daily newspapers.

This, the university explained, is the only legitimate way to confirm that a recruitment exercise is authentic.

What the public should do

The university strongly advised job seekers and the general public to:

  • Ignore the fake job portal
  • Avoid submitting personal details or money to unknown recruiters
  • Remain vigilant against individuals spreading false recruitment information

The warning is aimed at protecting Nigerians from financial loss, identity theft, and emotional distress often caused by fake job offers.

Official signatory

The disclaimer was signed by Dapo Oke, FCIA, FISN, MNIM, who is the Registrar and Secretary to Council of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education, Ijagun.

His signature confirms that the warning is an official position of the university’s management.
