Federal Polytechnic Idah Sets Jan 19–Feb 6 Deadline for ND I & HND I Final Registration (2024/2025)

Federal Polytechnic, Idah has officially announced the final registration and documentation schedule for all National Diploma I (ND I) and Higher National Diploma I (HND I) students for the 2024/2025 Academic Session, setting a firm deadline that every affected student must meet to remain fully registered.

According to an internal memo issued by the Deputy Registrar (Admissions), the exercise will run for nearly three weeks, giving students a final opportunity to complete all required admission and registration formalities.

Key Dates and Schedule

Here is the official timeline released by the institution:

  • Start Date: Monday, 19 January 2026
  • End Date: Friday, 6 February 2026
  • Time: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. daily
  • Venue: New Convocation Square, Federal Polytechnic, Idah

Students are expected to appear within this time window only. Reporting outside the stipulated hours may not be accepted.

Who Must Participate?

The directive applies to:

  • All ND I students
  • All HND I students

These are students admitted into the 2024/2025 Academic Session.

The Polytechnic made it clear that attendance at the documentation point is compulsory for both groups. Completing this process is a condition for being recognized as a fully registered student.

Any student who fails to complete the final documentation will be treated as “not fully registered.”

Late Registration Penalty

The Polytechnic has also announced a financial penalty for students who miss the deadline.

  • Late registration surcharge: ₦10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira)

This means any ND I or HND I student who does not complete the exercise by Friday, 6 February 2026 will be required to pay ₦10,000 before being allowed to finalize their registration.

The institution warned that the exercise should be treated with seriousness, as it directly affects students’ academic standing.

How Students Are Being Notified

To ensure that no student misses this important exercise, the Polytechnic has instructed all Heads of Academic Departments (HODs) to communicate the information to their students for strict compliance.

The memo was officially signed by S. Idegwu,
Assistant Chief Executive Officer (Admissions),
for the Registrar.

Copies of the notice were circulated to top officials including:

  • The Rector
  • Deputy Rectors
  • Registrar
  • Bursar
  • Polytechnic Librarian
  • Deans
  • Directors
  • Heads of Departments

It was also displayed on the official notice boards of the institution.

Why This Matters

This final documentation exercise is not just routine—it is the last step that confirms a student’s admission and registration status for the 2024/2025 session. Missing it could delay academic activities, affect records, and result in extra financial costs.

ND I and HND I students of Federal Polytechnic, Idah are therefore strongly advised to attend promptly and within the official dates.
