FCE Obudu Announces Temporary Closure for 2025 Christmas, 2026 New Year Celebrations
The management of the Federal College of Education (FCE), Obudu has approved a temporary closure of the institution to mark the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year celebrations, giving staff and students time to travel and spend the festive season with their families.
The announcement, issued by the college management, stated that the break will affect all academic and administrative activities, except essential services assigned to specific staff members.
FCE Obudu Christmas and New Year Break Dates
According to the official schedule:
- College closes: Friday, December 19, 2025, by 4:00 pm
- Activities resume: Monday, January 5, 2026
Management emphasized that all staff and students must return on the resumption date, as lectures and official duties will begin immediately without delay.
Security and Safety Advisory
Before vacating the campus, the college advised staff and students to:
- Switch off all electrical appliances
- Secure offices, classrooms, doors, and windows
Meanwhile, security personnel are directed to remain vigilant and ensure the safety of lives and property across both campuses throughout the closure period.
Message to the College Community
In a goodwill message released on behalf of the 8th Governing Council and the management team, the Registrar encouraged members of the college community—regardless of religious affiliation—to use the holiday period to pray for peace, good health, and progress in the coming year.
The Registrar also extended warm Christmas and New Year wishes to staff, students, and their families, thanking them for their cooperation and commitment throughout the academic year.
